ONGC AWARDED BEST STALL

Karaikal: The display of locating, drilling, extracting and processing of natural oil with eye - catching models presented by the ONGC, Cauvery unit won the First prize among the Public Sector Undertakings and Private Institutions, SHG’s, Stalls in the “Bharat Nirman” – Public Information Campaign cum Base Expo concluded at the Govt. Higher Secondary School, T.R.Pattinam yesterday.

The Second Prize in this category was won by the Indian Overseas Bank, Karaikal branch and the Third Prize went to the model of Power Generation with zero pollution displayed by the Pondicherry Power Corporation Limited, T.R.Pattinam.

The Self Help Groups sponsored by the Block Development Office and the Karaikal Municipality received consolation prizes.

Among the Government sector participants under the District Administration, Irrigation and Public Health Division of Public Works Department bagged the First Prize while Education Department and Revenue / Legal Metrology Department, Karaikal won the Second and Third Prize respectively.

The Sarva Siksha Abiyan, Karaikal, Labour and Employment Exchange, Karaikal won the consolation prizes among Govt. Sector category.

The spirited display of NCC cadets while presenting their Guard of Honour won the Special Appreciation Award from the Collector.

The Band Team organized by the Nirmala Ranee Girls Higher Secondary School, Karaikal also won the Appreciation Award from the Collector.

The five day long Expo organized by the Press Information Bureau, Chennai in co-ordination with the District Administration, Karaikal came to an end yesterday.

Thiru.Sudhir Kumar, District Collector, Karaikal awarded the prizes. The Prizes were sponsored by the District Administration.
